Electricity North West is one of 14 distribution network operators in the UK regulated by Ofgem and the majority of electricity enters our network from the National Grid.

We are responsible for maintaining and upgrading 13,000 km of overhead power lines and more than 44,000 km of underground electricity cables and much more. This covers the diverse communities between the beautiful Lake District landscapes to the bustling city of Manchester and all the wonderful towns and villages located in-between.

As the North West’s electricity network operator, it’s important that we have a dynamic and reliable application to allow us to effectively schedule our key operational labour and vehicle resources.

Following an Agile approach, myself and a small team of colleagues worked closely with the Ctrl Hub developers on a daily basis to design, test and build a bespoke scheduling application for Electricity North West Ltd. Ctrl Hub was intuitive to our needs and they designed an application that suited our business operation.

Ctrl Hub were responsive and always available when we needed them, we followed a daily scrum and weekly sprint approach, and this worked well for us as we were able to see in real-time how the application was taking shape, as well as make suggestions to adapt the application as we needed.
